The iconic view towards Middleton in Teesdale and Holwick in the distance from Whistle Crag, in strong winter sunshine on a very cold morning. Snow covers the Teesdale landscape; Kirkcarrion can be seen just below the horizon centre left, Crossthwaite and Park End quarries approximately in the centre of the image.
