A bright interval of wintry sunshine lights up Kirkcarrion in this view taken from Town Head, Middleton in Teesdale. Teesdale's iconic landmark is a circular plantation of trees, planted in 1936 to mark the site said to the the burial place of a Bronze Age chieftan, although this has not been conclusively proved.
